Registration notes: Tartan in Volume 2 of the Highland Society’s collection Highland Society of London records (1906). Now designated 'of Tulloch'. Approximate count taken from photograph of Clans Originaux 1880 woven sample. Green is a little light but otherwise the proportions are fine and it is symmetrical - unlike the Highland Society sample which was asymmetric. The Davidsons or Clan Dhai maintained a constant battle for precedence within Clan Chattan. The Davidsons of Tulloch in Ross-shire are one of the main branches of the Davidson family. Sometimes called 'Davidson of Tulloch blue'.
