Cairns Tower
Cairns Tower, also known as Cairns Castle, over looks Harperrig Reservoir in West Lothian, south-west of Edinburgh. The tower dates from the 15th century, however, it is believed that the upper floors are an addition to an older building from the previous century. The tower was last occupied in the 1700s, with the residents of the Cairns estate having moved into more modern buildings. The tower is now ruined, though significant parts of the walls still remain.
