John McCrae



Lt Col. John McCrae MD (1872 – 1918)
John McCrae was a physician, medical author, solider and poet during the First World War, as well as a battlefield surgeon during the Second Battle of Ypres. Born in Ontario, Canada, John McCrae was the grandson of Scottish immigrants. McCrae is perhaps best known for his war poem ‘In Flanders Fields’.
