Affleck Tower

Affleck Castle, also known as Auchenleck Castle, was built in the 1400s on the lands of the Auchenlecks of that Ilk. It is an L-plan tower house, which is located near Monkie in Angus, east Scotland. By the mid-18th century, the castle was held by the Reid family, who fortified it during the 1745 Jacobite rebellion, as supporters of the uprising. Affleck Castle was abandoned in 1760 for a new mansion, however, the castle still stands, though unoccupied.
